Do you have NICs which are old enough to *not* support 128bit addressing? I would have to look closely at some clients' offices (I have a few mail and web servers out there running on rather old Compaq server hardware), but surely all of the boxes in my racks are new enough (Proliant G2 and beyond). On the workstation side, I have no workstations at clients which are older than, say, four or five years. I can't recall the last system we deployed without an onboard NIC (though some of the older ones have failed, leading to the use of a card to get the last bit of life out of the station). I just don't have a hard answer as to when 128bit addressing *became* possible vs when it was not. -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA, CLP, CLE Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users Int'l www.novell.com/openenterpriseserver Need a managed Wi-Fi hotspot? www.hautspot.com ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
