First, remember that this is really Hakan's thread, relating to 
duplicate drive letters being assigned to his DVD.

I am indeed running 6.01. Perhaps my Dani 1.8.1 issues on the T43 were 
related to APM vs ACPI. I'm going to give it another shot.

My DVD is indeed recognized just fine right now. Dani 1.8.1 seemed to 
leave me without an accessible DVD device. I suggest we focus on Hakan's 
issue in this OT thread, and if I have a problem after my next go-round 
with 1.8.1, I'll post to eCS-Technical, which is probably more apropos.

It works just fine on Diane's T61. My problem was with the T43 under APM 
(no ACPI). ;-)
