Subject: [OS2Wireless] How to: setup wireless AND wired interface on a laptop?

The story so far, I have a T40 thinkpad with the PCCard IBM High Speed Wireless adapter, properly configured with the IBM drivers through the latest PCCard services, and I added in the adapter through MPTS config with IBM TCP/IP attached. The Wifi state applet will show a green connected when radio is selected ON. So the physical layer is OK.

Here is my Adapter & Protocol Configuration list, as you can see I have InnoTek's Virtual PC already installed, I do not need the wireless connection virtualized.

Intel(R) PRO PCI Adapter
0 - InnoTek Virtual Switch Protocol
InnoTek Virtual Switch MAC
   1 - IBM OS/2 NETBIOS
   0 - IBM OS/2 NETBIOS OVER TCP/IP
   0 - IBM TCP/IP
IBM High Rate Wireless LAN PC Card-128
   2 - IBM TCP/IP

I use this laptop mainly through a connected TCPIP interface, it goes to a wired router through its onboard IntelPro10/100 adapter. That is TCPIP lan0, it is enabled for DHCP, and that works fine.

I know that you can only have one active DHCP interface, and I seem to remember that the interface "numbers", lan0, lan1 and so on are logical vs physical, but I can't recall further details.

The DHCP monitor shows only lan0. I tried deselecting "lan0 enable", then I tried clicking on the enable for lan2 in TCP/IP configuration, but the DHCP enable was still greyed out.

My questions are, how do you enable the wireless TCP/IP interface with DCHP (or as a poor alternate as a manual connection) so that it is relatively easy to "toggle" the setup back and forth. The wireless card will attach to a dedicated wireless router in a single location, at least initially. I will not need to run the wired & the wireless connection at the same time.

Many thanks ...
