Yes, that should work. The one limitation is that the hibernation facility apparently will not run if you have Boot Manager installed - now that may only be during the setup, not sure and the notes are not clear. I could install lose98 by creating a new clean primary partition as C, rebooting, installing, doing the hibernate thing, and then booting from the eCS CD into the console, run LVM, reset the boot partition, and we should then be all right.

But, unfortunately I no longer have any space left at the beginning of the disk, and the data partition is JFS, so I can't do the Partition Magic thing.

I wonder if DFSEE would let me shrink and shift the JFS partition safely, it is mostly empty. Else, I'd have to trash the partition, recreate it, and then restore.

Hmm, getting more complicated all the time!
