I don't know whether it's the inability of the folks doing the (non)technical writing for the sales stuff, the web staff who can't seem to get it together, or outright lack of detail by the design staff, which is further exploited by the sales team to sell the stuff quickly (before anyone notices), but it's very, very frustrating. I ended up eating a couple routers that way a few moinths ago (almost ate...one is actually installed at a client site and the other is listed at Half.com for - guess what - about half of what I paid!). :'( >BTW, I went to the Long Island blog site and signed up, saw a few posts and >am anxious to get the Mozilla Blog client for my new ThinkPad. > You can blog without it, too, remember. > As much as >I've despised MS in the past, I find myself liking the new XP software. > I've found XP - through anectodal evidence; my only exposure to it has been to remove it (8 times) and install it clean (once) - to be a love/hate kind of thing. >Once I get a handle on it and get the system configured to my liking, I'm >going to create a disk image, reformat and load eCS v1.1 and begin >experimenting with it. They're located right here on Long Island, too, and I've even been to their headquarters (wow, that was a while ago...). I have a buddy who used to resell quite a bit of their stuff, and so I was able to get my hands on scads of networking hardware on the cheap, but as I found that I couldn't really rely on it, I stopped. My web designer has a little SMC broadband router at home and he likes it, though by his own admission, he really hasn;t had any experience with anything else (but it has been reliable for him, as I'd be the guy to hear about it!). -- Lewis --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA Rosenthal & Rosenthal : Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia : www.2rosenthals.com Novell Users International : www.whytheylie.com OS/2's new face is eComStation : www.ecomstation.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- This OS/2 system (Apollo) uptime is 0 days 03:50 hours and 59 seconds =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to steward@2rosenthals.com with the command "unsubscribe os2-wireless_users" in the body (omit the quotes).
