Logic would tell you that they'd all be stomping on each other. I guess they're far enough apart that they don't (just a guess). According to that link, different ESSIDs and channels will provide load balancing and fault tolerance, while the same ESSIDs and channels will just give the former. It's a new one on me, too. I probably have to fall back on my earlier thought that whatever is going on is implemented in the manufacturer's (or manufacturers', though I seriously doubt that they're using hardware from multiple manufacterers) firmware, and is something akin to mesh technology. That said, I still don;t get how they're able to implement what appears to be fully functional DSSS technology (i.e., you were able to connect to it, so it must be using direct sequence spread specturm to broadcast signal) without running into the crosstalk problem.

Ummm, I don't get it... it's talking about load balancing? :-o

I was wondering how four APs in close proximity could work properly when they're all on the same channel?  Wouldn't this cause major interference with each other??
