The handheld may not have been, but the Kismet software he was using supports:
1. Linux
2. Linux-ARM
3. BSD
4. Win32 (Cygwin)
5. MacOS X
This may be able to be run on OS/2 with a bit of tweaking perhaps using EMX. They have source code
available http://www.kismetwireless.net/code/kismet-3.0.1.tar.gz
Here's some screen shots of the Kismet software working, I notice that it detects networks without
SSID, too.
