Also, what version is the file? If you waken the system from sleep, and then pull the card and reinsert, it doesn't wake up? If this is the case, then I'm even more inclined to suspect the PCMCIA stack than the NIC driver. On 01/02/2005 08:44 am, Maurice Guéron thus wrote : >My wifi connection works. Adapter is a NetGear 401 adapter, driver is genprism v.2 RC4. I'm using wlanstat.exe ver 1.11 . Wlanstat.exe is more than a monitor, as we know. Nevertheless the network connection works even when wlanstat.exe is not running (if I exit from the famously small icon). However I usually let it run. > >After a few days away from the desk (the TP600E in sleep mode) I come back. >The network does not connect. After a few attempts, I reboot. Everything comes up and works, including the wifi connection. But there is something new: the disk is accessed about once every 0.5 second without a stop. Seems to come from wlanstat.exe, since disk access stops if I turn off wlanstat.exe. > >If I keep wlanstat.exe running, I can stop disk access by pulling out the adapter, but of course this kills the connection! > >No change after a reboot. > >Does anyone have an explanation? >TIA >mg > >Maurice GUERON, BIOP/PMC, >Ecole polytechnique, 91128 Palaiseau, France >phone: (33/0) 169 334 174 fax: (33/0) 169 333 004 >e-mail: mg@pmc.polytechnique.fr >In case of problems only, use : gueron@idf.ext.jussieu.fr > > > -- Lewis ------------------------------------------------------------ Lewis G Rosenthal, CNA Rosenthal & Rosenthal, LLC Accountants / Network Consultants New York / Northern Virginia www.2rosenthals.com eComStation Consultants www.ecomstation.com Novell Users International www.novell.com/linux/truth ------------------------------------------------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to steward@2rosenthals.com with the command "unsubscribe os2-wireless_users" in the body (omit the quotes).
