Kris, how many addresses do you have assigned to the pool in the router,

and how many addresses have already been assigned?

Clear the address assigned to the Jacaranda in the router, and then attempt to obtain an address via XWLAN.

Of course I did/do. The various devices are just one router and the jacaranda card, so it's not to hard to keep track of it. The router's SSID always has been "SMC", and I tried by turns "SMC" or "ANY" for the card. Makes no difference.
