Oops... It must be catching. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut! ;-)
It appears that if WiFiStat is started with the LED on, it switches it off and says there is no card. If it's off, it switches it on and says connected to ESS. This may be done by it automatically loading a profile - I don't know. There doesn't seem to be any way of removing all profiles just to make sure.
Clean the settings from OS2.INI. That should get it straight. It does sound like it's trying to apply a profile, though, and toggling the card's state.
