** Reply to message from Jeffrey Smick <jeff.smick@earthlink.net> on Thu, 06It ships with eCS (ver 5) but there is an updated version (ver 8) on the eCS website. From the date, it looks like it is the one that IBM finally fixed (the first several ver 8. releases didn't work on some systems-- mine included).

? There is no $ICPMOS2.SYS entry in my config.sys. Why should I have it?I actually don't know if you need it or not since I'm not familiar with your
card and I'm just assuming your using a laptop. But, if you're installing to a laptop and if your card is like any other pcmcia
card, then yes indeed you need this entry as well as several others. They are all part of IBM's PCCard Director. If your
card is pcmcia you need to acquire this package and install it correctly. Afterwards, you will have some new driver
files and some new entries in config.sys, as well as a simple GUI interface to control the pcmcia device(s) you have inserted.
Is this as obligatory as described above? I wonder that it hasn't been
discussed here at all (or that I have missed it). It appears to be a "reserved
feature"; does that mean that a Passport Advantage subscription is required? Or
is it on the eCS site?
