If not, you CAN use DFSee to recover the files from it too. If DFSee can still display them, including filenames and paths, it can also copy them to another drive ... Looks in the DOCS for the FILEFIND and RECOVER commands and check the specific JFS menu items for finding files: Mode=JFS -> File Recovery/Undelete -> Search Normal files => list (or the 'QuickFI normal files => list' faster variant) then list them using: Mode=JFS -> File Recovery/Undelete -> Display files from List ... and finally: Mode=JFS -> File Recovery/Undelete -> Recover files from list ... To recover them (copy) to another driveletter. This requires a recent version 8.xx. If you need help, contact 'support@dfsee.com' Regards, JvW (Lewis: sorry for the OT plug :-) On Fri, 03 Nov 2006 02:32:07 +0100, Jirk Braak wrote: >it's working like a charm :P tnx for the tip... if your drive is really >f*cked up... and mine was...... >you might need this free iso first to restore the mbr >http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/ > >Jirk Braak wrote: > >> ok it was only 37 euro... i hope it does restore filenames....... >> other wise it won't doe any good..... i've got about 126000 files on >> that drive... all user data >> but it is worth a try..... if anyone else has some good solutions, >> the're more than welcome >> >> Andy Willis wrote: >> >>> Jirk Braak wrote: >>> >>>> Hi... i know this is off topic... but the jfs of my server crashed >>>> (containing all my wireless projects) >>>> i cannot do anything with the drive anymore... but with dfsee i can >>>> see the files.... correct size and name...there no way to access it >>>> however ========================================================================= DFSee Home: http://www.dfsee.com; Jan van Wijk; Author of DFSee - info@dfsee.com
