The one thing > I definitely follow protocol on is using MPTS > to install adapters and protocols initially. I bought the first two volumes of "Internetworking with TCP/IP Principles, Protocols, and Architecture", there are 5 or 6 volumes altogether. The first one is the introduction, which I read completly (I never completed reading the second volume), the volumes 2 onwards are an implementation of a full TCP/IP program with full source code in the books. I think the TCP/IP configuration does more than create the setup.cmd. All of the commands in the setup.cmd file are in the TCP/IP online help. Setting up MPTS has been a problem in the past and sometimes MPTS created an IBMLAN.INI file that would not work (this bit me once). While trying to fix the problem I found a web site that described the IBMLAN.INI structure so I could fix the problem and get things working. That web site helped me understand how things went together and I have saved it for future reference in case it disappears from the net. I checked and it is still active. http://www.mit.edu:8001/activities/os2/peer/WARPPEER.HTM I hope this help you a little. -- Robert Blair
