The basic TCP/IP settings are done from the TCPCFG2.CMD. If you truly don't understand networking then you probably don't want to edit that file manually because you would need to understand OS/2's implementation of ifconfig, route and other commands. Also the help screens in the TCPCFG2 applet are very good and that is probably your best source of information. I use those help screens to configure networking in OS/9 and Linux embedded devices since that is the best source of info I have on hand. When I ask our programmers how to configure and item in our device they usually tell me to read the applicable RFC. If so, I'd rather work directly with setup.cmd. I get crazed with so many different utilities to configure what appear to be a relatively few files. What other utilities are there besides tcpcfg2 and mpts? The one thing I definitely follow protocol on is using MPTS to install adapters and protocols initially. A little more detail on what you want to know and what problems you are having would help us to help you better. It sounds like you have a genuine desire to learn and I really appreciate that.
